Puerto Rico

Program Dates: April 4-12, 2025

About / Important Dates / Courses / Program Costs / Itinerary / Apply Now

With a fascinating blend of Spanish, African, and indigenous Taino influences, Puerto Rico features music, cuisine, art, and architecture rich in culture and history. On this program, students will roam the hallowed paths of Old San Juan, trek the verdant embrace of the El Yunque National Forest, and bask in the tropical paradise, all while delving into an educational experience where learning meets adventure.

Students will explore the residents and challenges of Puerto Rico as a U.S. territory with a focus on organization, issues, disaster response, and the resilience of Puerto Ricans. Additionally, students are introduced to the sociological approach to social problems, exploring ways Puerto Rican communities and leaders experience, address, and overcome many social issues.
