Community Engagement Comes Naturally
Augusta University is closely connected to the world around us. Our campus covers more than 670 acres within the city of Augusta but our reach goes deep into the community and spans the state of Georgia.
Our commitment to community engagement can be seen in almost everything we do, whether we’re helping students succeed in the classroom or working to increase the well-being of our city, country, and world.
We’re here to facilitate these activities, creating and nurturing partnerships between campus and community in ways that matter.

We work with partners across the Central Savannah River Area to make our communities stronger, help our neighbors stay healthier, and better prepare our workforce for the future.
How? By making the right connections between community organizations and Augusta University colleges, schools, departments, faculty, and students.
We believe that both Augusta University and our local communities benefit when we work together. That’s why we strive to create new partnerships with businesses, schools, neighborhoods, nonprofit organizations, and individuals from our community. And why we nurture the relationships we already have.
After all, as Augusta’s premier research institution, it’s our responsibility to use our abilities and resources for the greater good—creating better opportunities for everyone.
We pride ourselves on providing a multitude of opportunities for students and employees to get involved and make a difference on campus and in the communities that we serve.
Community-engaged experiential learning works when we work together. Incorporating service learning and other community engagement techniques into your classroom can be immensely rewarding. However, getting your service learning project from the idea phase to reality can also be a challenge.
Working with researchers and scholars across the state of Georgia is essential to our mission. We’re proud of the work we’ve done together—and are eager to see where our efforts will take us in the future. And we’re always working to deepen our campus–community partnerships.
Augusta University is the only academic medical center in the state of Georgia and we are committed to shaping healthier communities through a wide variety of programs and services.
In order for our community to thrive, we believe that it is important to serve as a resource, offering access to a wide range of health, education, technology, and arts programs that only make our community stronger and help us grow together. We can connect you with the resources you need to maximize your economic opportunities, whether you’re an individual or a business.
When our campus and community connect, we all benefit.
