Participate in this award-winning program and represent Augusta University in the Big Apple! Join fellow Jags at the 2026 Model United Nations Conference in New York City! In this spring course, students will learn about diplomacy and international relations through the lens of another country. In New York City, students will visit famous sights like the Brooklyn Bridge and Statue of Liberty and work with students from schools around the world at the National Model UN Conference.

MarchStudents will depart Augusta via Groome Shuttle to the Atlanta Airport and fly to New York City. Upon arrival at LaGuardia Airport, they’ll take an AirLink Shuttle to the hotel and settle in. The evening will include a visit to the iconic Empire State Building followed by a cultural group dinner to kick off the week.

MarchThe morning begins with a ferry ride and visit to the Statue of Liberty, offering a powerful symbol of diplomacy and global unity. In the evening, students will attend the National Model United Nations Opening Ceremony at 6:00 PM, followed by their first committee sessions from 7:00 to 10:30 PM.

MarchStudents will begin the day with a potential visit to their assigned country’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations (based on availability). From 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, they’ll participate in formal NMUN committee sessions, collaborating with other university delegates from around the world.

MarchThe group will spend the day immersed in debate, resolution drafting, and diplomacy, attending NMUN committee sessions from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

AprilThe final day of committee work will run from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. In the evening, students will enjoy a classic New York experience with a Broadway show—an energizing way to celebrate the hard work of the week.

AprilStudents will attend the NMUN Closing Ceremony at the United Nations Headquarters in the General Assembly Hall—a truly memorable and inspiring setting. The group will cap off the evening with a cultural dinner together.

AprilStudents will enjoy a free day to explore New York City on their own or in small groups. This is the perfect opportunity for sightseeing, shopping, visiting museums, or relaxing in Central Park.

AprilThe group will depart the hotel via AirLink Shuttle and fly back to Atlanta. From there, they’ll take Groome Shuttle back to Augusta.
