TELEPHONES AT AUGUSTA UNIVERSITY

Augusta University uses Cisco IP telephones. These phones work very similarly to a traditional phone except voice calls are transported via the enterprise data network rather than analog telephone lines. Cisco IP telephones have all the features and functionality of a traditional phone along with the enhanced capabilities of a sophisticated corporate telephone system. Because the new system will run on the enterprise data network, calls between IP phones have more predictable call quality and improved security.

AUGUSTA UNIVERSITY TELECONFERENCE SERVICES

Information Technology has two methods of conferencing depending on your needs. If you are currently paying an external service for teleconferencing please see the following options which are available without fee to the department.

For Internal only meetings that don’t require a dial-in number for external participants, Microsoft Teams meetings allows all Faculty, Staff and Students with the Microsoft Teams client to join a meeting and use the audio client to participate. All participants using the Microsoft Teams client would also be able to see content being shared.

For users who only need audio conferencing with a dial-in number or who are needing to conference it remote sites with classroom based teleconferencing equipment, Augusta University’s Cisco Meeting Server can be used.
