In addition to Augusta University campus-wide scholarships, students may apply to one of the scholarships reserved for College of Nursing students. Through the generosity of alumni, faculty and friends, more than $125,000 in scholarships is awarded to College of Nursing students each year. Students may apply for all College of Nursing scholarships and Augusta University scholarships in the AU Scholarship Universe portal.

The Col. Vera Nolfe Anderson Army Nursing Scholarship Endowment was established in memory and honor of Col. Anderson, a dedicated and beloved Army nurse. She was an Army Nurse for 24 years was a former Chief Nurse of Eisenhower Army Medical Center at Fort Gordon. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who wants to be an Army Nurse, either currently in the Army Nurse Corp or desires to be in the Army Nurse Corp after program completion.

Established by MCG School of Nursing alumna, Dr. Jeannette Andrews, in honor of her aunt, Mrs. Joyce Grimaud, who inspired her to become a nurse. Mrs. Grimaud practiced nursing for 40 years in a variety of roles, including 26 years at the Augusta V.A. Hospital as a cardiovascular nurse. Mrs. Grimaud epitomizes both the "art" and "science" of nursing and is a highly recognized patient advocate. She has been an inspirational mentor to many nurses, nursing students, and other health professionals across this state. This award recognizes a BSN Senior who desires to become a cardiovascular nurse.

The Hildegard Peplau/Lore K. Wright Award is given in memory of Dr. Hildegard Peplau, a leader in psychiatric nursing, and Dr. Lore K. Wright, a Professor and Chair of the MCG Department of Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. Endowed by Dr. Wright's husband, Dr. Victor Wright in 2007, this award is given to a student who exemplifies excellence in the application of psychotherapeutic interventions with clients.

The Frances M. Price Leadership Award was established by Dr. Pamela Cook, Augusta University faculty and graduate of the DNP class of 2006, in honor of her mother who exemplifies the highest ideals of leadership and who has been her greatest inspiration and role model. This award recognizes a student who demonstrate excellent leadership abilities by their significant contributions to their class and the College of Nursing.

The Lore Rogers Memorial Scholarship was established in memory of Lore Rogers, who devoted her life to the care of those in need. Specializing in burn nursing, her influence was not limited to Augusta, Georgia, but extended throughout her many medical mission trips and always displayed a genuine love for others.

Dr. Stoney, a prominent local black physician, opened in 1909 the Stoney Nurses Home to house students of the Lamar School of Nursing. The Lamar School was one of the first nursing schools for blacks in the South which trained students for work at the Lamar Hospital which opened in 1895 for black patients. The Stoney Building currently is occupied by Augusta University faculty and staff. This scholarship provides tuition support for nursing students from groups underrepresented in nursing in pursuit of academic excellence.

The Trailblazer Award was established in 2010 by a dedicated group of "trailblazing" African American alumnae. The Taylor-Gunn Nursing Scholarship was established by Mr. Frank M. Taylor to honor the memory of his wife, Mrs. Margaret G. Taylor, and her sister, Ms. Cecil Gunn. It is awarded to a second year Bachelor of Science in Nursing student. The recipient of the scholarship is selected based on need and the extent to which the identified criteria are met.

The Anne L. Cox Memorial Scholarship was established by Ms. Tammy Burdeaux in memory of her mother. Ms. Burdeaux spent her career in public health and is dedicated to helping other nursing students achieve success. The Shirley M. Schiffer Pediatric Nursing Scholarship was established by Mr. Edwin Schiffer in memory of his wife, Mrs. Shirley Schiffer, who dedicated her life to caring for children and others. This scholarship is given to a nursing student who plans to specialize in pediatric nursing.

Leilee P. Ault was a founding faculty member of the School of Nursing and served in various capacities during her distinguished 32-year career. Ms. Ault's believed that a nursing student should be involved in school, professional and community activities. To honor Ms. Ault and the tremendous contribution she made to the School of Nursing and its students, the Alumni Association established an award in her honor. Two students, one undergraduate and one graduate, will receive awards annually. The College of Nursing Alumni Association Board will determine the most deserving applicants and announce the recipients at the CON Alumni Event in April.

Established in 1999 in memory of Donna M. Fair, a professor and alumna of the MCG School of Nursing. Joining the Department of Adult Nursing in 1973, she taught medical surgical nursing and served as Coordinator of the Nursing Skills Laboratory during her tenure at the College of Nursing. Ms. Fair retired in 1995 and passed away in 1999. The endowment funds awards to students who demonstrate promise in specialty nursing fields important to Ms. Fair. Two students, one undergraduate and one graduate, will receive awards annually. The awards also consider leadership ability. The College of Nursing Alumni Association Board will determine the most deserving applicants and announce the recipients at the CON Alumni Event in April.

The Emily Flanders Nairn Award was established by former dean Lucy Marion in loving memory of her aunt, Mrs. Emily Flanders Nairn. The Branan Trust was created under the will of Charles I. Branan, who died in 1929. It is named in memory of his beloved mother, Mary Ellen Lindsey Branan (1830-1915), who was left a widow with seven children. The scholarship is utilized to advance nursing research by facilitating the studies of a graduate nursing student who best demonstrates promise for exemplary research. The award will be determined by the recipient's academic record and clarity of research goals and may be given to more than one student per academic year. This award may be used by students for tuition, research, professional travel, or other expenses directly related to their program of study.

The Susan Alden Award was established by MCG School of Nursing alumna (BSN and MSN) and dedicated Alumna Association Board Member, Susan Alden, DNP, FNP, APMHCNS, BC. Dr. Alden is Board-certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in Adult Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and Family Practice Nursing and has taught nursing for nearly 30 years. She established this award to assist students enrolled in an advanced practice nursing program who have a desire to work with psychiatric-mental health patients.

Established in 2009, the Widow's Home Nursing Student Toolbox Fund assists students in overcoming economic hardships that might prevent completion of the program of study. The funds are available year-round to females, who legally and officially reside in Georgia, with preference given to those who live in Richmond or Columbia Counties, enrolled full-time in the pre-licensure nursing programs (BSN and CNL) and currently attending classes on the Augusta campus.

This fund is to assist undergraduate and graduate nursing students with emergent educational needs resulting from unforeseen financial challenges. It also is to help students with personal emergencies including unexpected medical bills, travel expenses for family emergencies, hardships such as difficulty paying for food, housing and utilities, and other financial crises as they arise. Funds will be disbursed at the discretion of the Assistant Dean of the College of Nursing, based on applications initiated or supported by faculty referrals.
