MVS has several resources - some of them unique to AU - to help you be successful. From opportunities to learn about VA and DoD educational benefits to means to engage with other veterans in the community, MVS wants to aid in your success from application to graduation and beyond. 

American Corporate Partners (ACP) Mentoring  
Augusta University is proud to be a partner with American Corporate Partners (ACP). ACP’s free Mentoring Program connects post-9/11 veterans, active duty spouses and eligible military spouses (Protégés) with corporate professionals (Mentors) for customized mentorships. ACP assists veterans and eligible spouses on their path towards fulfilling, long-term careers, whether the veteran is job searching or newly employed. Typical mentorship goals include resume review and interview preparation; career exploration and understanding job opportunities; career advancement once a position is obtained; work-life balance; networking; small business development; and leadership and professional communication. Augusta University’s Chapter of Student Veterans of America 
The mission of AU’s chapter of Student Veterans of America  is to enable members to succeed by providing social, financial, and disability resources, network support and advocacy, at Augusta University, the local Augusta community, and nationally through service events, and through collaboration with the SVA headquarters. Be a part of this group of students to make great connections and do great things!

Hot Spots 
Need connectivity to the internet at home, on the ball field, while traveling so you can be academically successful? If so, MVS has hot spots available for loan, at no cost to you. A hot spot agreement form must be signed and the hot spot has to be returned at the end of each semester but it can be borrowed each term if available. Students wanting more information or to borrow a hot spot can email MVS@augusta.edu or stop by the Office of Military and Veteran Services in Washington Hall, room 212.  

Military Advisory Council Resources 
Augusta University has created a Military Advisory Council with veterans from the institution and the community. With a wide range of backgrounds, skills, and insights, the Council members are available to support Augusta University military students during their academic journeys and as they transition into the workforce. Military Resource Center 
The Military Resource Center, located in Washington Hall, room 233, provides military students a place to connect with one another. This space has a lounge area, study tables, and a computer lab. Access is allowed via your JagCard and you may request access here 

Monthly Virtual Meetings for VA Educational Benefits and Tuition Assistance 
MVS offers monthly virtual meetings for new/prospective students who are planning to use VA educational benefits or tuition assistance. Invitations to the monthly virtual events are in the student portal or you may email mvs@augusta.edu for details.  

Work Study 
The Office of Military and Veteran Services is a VA work study approved site and have multiple VA work study positions.  Job duties include: 

  • Answering the main phone line and helping customers that may walk in – can include providing information about the admissions process, educational benefits, waivers, paperwork, etc. 
  • Filing documents 
  • Setting up events/give presentations at orientation 
  • Other miscellaneous activities 

Job qualifications include: 

  • Must be utilizing VA educational benefits 
  • Must be enrolled at least ¾ time 
  • Minimum 2.5 Augusta University GPA 
  • Good communication skills and customer service
  • Punctual, reliable, and willing to work

If you need 1:1 assistance in completing the application to VA educational benefits or tuition assistance or requesting federal aid with completing the FAFSA, please let us know. Transfer Equivalency, Military Training, and Prior Learning Assessment
