What is the status of my certification?
To view the status of your certification, you will need to log into your AU portal. Once you are logged in, you will see a table that provides dates and status updates pertaining to your certification(s).
Where can I see / how will I know if my cert is received and if I’m missing anything?

Do I have to certify my classes every semester?
Yes, every semester you want to use your VA Educational Benefits you must certify your classes through our office.

What is a COE and where do I get one?
A COE is a Certificate of Eligibility, and it is typically sent to you from the VA after you have applied for benefits (though them) and been approved. A COE states what you are eligible for and for how long.
What if I am unable to retrieve my COE?
If this is your first-time using benefits, you are required to have a Certificate of Eligibility. If you are a returning student, you can login to Ebenefits to retrieve your Statement of Benefits to turn in as a replacement. As a reminder, Post 9/11 users must submit a COE or Statement of Benefits every semester benefits are used. All other benefits need to submit their COE only once.
How much will I receive in BAH while using my benefits?
Unfortunately, we are unable to answer that question. We recommend calling the GI Bill Hotline at (888) 442-4551 or visiting the VA website for further guidance.
What should I do if I have not received my VA funds?
Unfortunately, we are not able to view VA BAH payments. Any questions you may have will need to be directed to the VA. We recommend calling the GI Bill Hotline at (888) 442-4551 or visiting the VA website to view payment history.
If I use my benefits, can I apply for FAFSA and other aid?
Yes, you are welcome to apply for other financial aid and FAFSA. To find out what you may qualify for please contact Financial Aid.
Do I qualify for an out of state waiver?

Do you offer Yellow Ribbon?
Unfortunately, as of Fall 2024, Augusta University is no longer a Yellow Ribbon school.
I am having trouble reaching my VR&E counselor. What should I do?
If you are having trouble reaching your counselor, our office can contact your counselor on your behalf.
I receive VR&E and have required items (i.e. lab coat, graphing calculator) that exceed the bookstore supply limit. What do I do?
We recommend contacting your VR&E counselor. Your counselor will need to submit an updated PO/Authorization to us that lists the required items. Once we receive the PO/Authorization, we will notify you and the bookstore that you are able to purchase the additional items.
Is there a place designated only for military affiliated students?
Yes, we have a Military Resource Center (MRC) located down the hall from our office in Washington Hall. The space can be used as a quiet place to study, utilize a computer, eat lunch, host meetings, or see what is new with MVS.
How can I gain access to the MRC?
Navigate to https://augusta.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3NOsd3rLfRDkzhc and submit the brief questionnaire. Once access has been granted, you will be notified via your school email.
I’m interested in joining ROTC. How can I get started?

I was accepted into the HPSP program. What now?
We (MVS office) will need a copy of your acceptance letter into the HPSP program. Once you send us that letter, we will be able to process your account. Should we have any questions, we will contact you. Please note, not all HPSP programs cover all tuition and fee costs. We will email you if you do have a remaining balance, but please check your Pounce account often to see if you have a remaining balance.
I am part of the Medical/Dental college. Are my benefits processed differently?
No, students in the Medical and Dental college should submit a request for certification and their Certificate of Eligibility each semester they intend to utilize their benefits.
I want to use TA… where do I start?
Students who wish to utilize Tuition Assistance (TA) must contact their chain of command to retrieve a voucher. Once you have the voucher, you will need to submit a Certification Request Form (the steps are outlined below) and upload the voucher. If you have any questions, please email fortgordon@augusta.edu. Our representatives are located in the Education Center on base and are able to answer any questions you may have.
