Section Chief- Medical College of Georgia
Responsibilities of the Section Chief include, but are not limited to, the following:
The recommendation of a Section Chief of an official section within an academic department at the Georgia Health Sciences University must be recommended through the Faculty Action and Approval Process (FAAP).
August 28, 1987 - Origination date of General Section Chief Job Description - Medical College of Georgia Dean's Office.
September 3, 1987 - Vice President for Business and Finance forwarded the necessary information to the Board of Regents to establish a new Job Classification Code (BCode) for Section Chief.
March 20, 2003- Provost approved the recommendation by the Dean of the Medical College of Georgia to change the institutional guidelines “Procedures to Establish Official Sections within an Existing Medical College of Georgia Clinical Academic Unit.”
