Admission Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university. To be used to satisfy degree requirement, evaluation of foreign educational transcripts must show degree(s) earned that are the U.S. equivalency of degree(s) required by the program.

Official transcripts are required from all universities and colleges ever attended. Only in the case of transcripts from international colleges/universities will an official course-by-course transcript evaluation be accepted in lieu of an official transcript. Official electronic transcripts should be emailed from the issuing institution to Augusta University's Office of Academic Admissions at graduateadmissions@augusta.edu

Alternatively, Augusta University will accept official mailed transcripts in the original, unopened, sealed and stamped/signed envelope from the issuing institution and should be directed to:

An official, professional course-by-course evaluation based on official transcripts and documents is required for all foreign educational transcripts and documents from one of the following three credentials evaluation services: Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. (ECE), Josef Silny & Associates, Inc., World Education Services (WES), . Silny and WES are recommended. Official transcript evaluations based on unofficial transcripts, documents or copies will not fulfill this requirement. Official course-by-course transcript evaluations should be emailed from the evaluation service to Augusta University's Office of Academic Admissions at graduateadmissions@augusta.edu

Please allow three (3) weeks or more from the order date for the evaluation to be delivered. Early requests for transcripts is strongly advised to ensure a completed application file before the deadline

Recommendations (which include a reference form and letter of recommendation) from three individuals are required. Referees should be individuals qualified to critically assess the applicant's prior academic (usually college professors), employment, artistic, research and/or clinical experience (clinical or research supervisor/manager) and qualifications (as applicable) as well as the applicant's potential as a graduate student in the field/program selected. Early requests for references is strongly advised to ensure a completed application file before the deadline.

Recommendations must be submitted online only. Within the application, you will provide the names and current email addresses for three individuals you have asked to serve as your recommenders. Once you have completed the recommendation section within the application, each recommender will receive an email notification directing them to the online site where they can complete their recommendation.

Submission of official GMAT/GRE/MCAT/DAT exam scores for applicants are optional. The absence of official GMAT/GRE/MCAT/DAT scores will not be considered as negative by the admission committee.

 

English proficiency exam scores are required for applicants whose first language is not English. Augusta University will accept official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Test (IELTS) exam scores. Official exam scores must be taken within 2 years of the date of application. The Augusta University institution code for submission of TOEFL or IELTS scores is 5406. Please do not select a department code.

TOEFL Minimum Overall Score: 79 internet based or 213 computer based
IELTS Minimum Overall Band Score: 6.5

An English proficiency exam is not required for graduate applicants who submit proof of earning a Baccalaureate, Master’s or Doctoral degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college/university.

Program Specific Requirements

Applicants must submit a current curriculum vitae/resume to the application status portal after the application has been submitted. 

A minimum of two years of professional business experience is required to enter our online program.

Recent graduates of a Bachelor of Business Administration program are strongly encouraged to gain professional work experience before entering our program.

Additional Information

If you are a current, full time faculty member at the rank of Instructor or higher at Augusta University applying to a “lower-ranked” degree (examples include: PhD, MD, DMD, professional doctorate (DNP, DPT etc), or EdS etc applying to a Master level degree), you may request to have your academic documents that are on file in Human Resources transferred to the Office of Academic Admissions (GraduateAdmissions@augusta.edu) to be considered to fulfill your application document requirements. 

 Please send an email to HR_AU_EMPLOYMENTVERIFICATIONS@augusta.edu with a request to send your transcript(s), proof of degree and other academic documents (specify) needed for your student application directly to the Office of Academic Admissions (GraduateAdmissions@augusta.edu). For applicants with international degrees, a transcript evaluation, credential verification and/or credential evaluation should be transferred to the Office of Academic Admissions (GraduateAdmissions@augusta.edu), in addition to transcripts.   

Programs/Colleges/TGS maintain the right to request additional or official documentation if documents on file in Human Resources (or Faculty Affairs) are not complete, appropriate or sufficient.

The program/academic college for which you are applying will review your application and supporting documents. Interviews will be scheduled and considered, as applicable to individual programs. Taken together, the whole of your application should demonstrate substantial preparation for graduate study in the field for which you are seeking admittance. 

 

Upon recommendation of the program/academic college, The Graduate School will review your credentials and applicant profile and make a formal, official decision for your admittance. Official notice of your admission can only come from the Dean of The Graduate School via notification from Augusta University's Office of Academic Admissions.

According to Policy 4.3.4 of the University System of Georgia, any student requesting to pay at the in-state tuition rate will be required to provide verification of their lawful presence in the United States in order to be classified as an in-state student or awarded an out-of-state tuition waiver.
