Scholarships
The following scholarships are awarded by the Department of Mathematics:
- Jerry Sue Townsend Scholarship
- Grover B. Williams Scholarship
Applications for these scholarships are submitted through Academic Works, a scholarship management system located online at: Augusta Academic Works. For more information about applying for scholarships please visit the the Financial Aid Scholarships page.
The Academic Works application process opens December 1st and closes February 1st.
If you meet the following qualifications, you will be asked to submit two letters of recommendation via Academic Works. The recommendations are due by February 15th.
Scholarship recipients will be notified by April 1st.
Qualifications for Applicants
New Entering Freshman Applicants
- Must be seeking a degree in mathematics.
- Must have a cumulative high school grade point average in all academic subjects of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
- Must have a score of approximately 1100 on the SAT or comparable scores on the ACT
- Must have completed the College Preparatory Curriculum in high school.
- Must have applied and been accepted for admission to Augusta University.
Returning or Transfer Students
- Must have declared mathematics as a major.
- Must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 for all college work attempted.
- Must be currently enrolled or fully accepted to Augusta University.
- Must be in good standing at Augusta University, if currently enrolled.
External Opportunities
Research experiences, scholarship, internship, fellowship opportunities outside of the AU institution that would make a major positive difference in your academic and professional career. This would come not just from financial support and mentoring opportunities, but also from prestige.
