DNP

2025 Best Grad Schools

Augusta University established Georgia's first Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in 2005.

The DNP includes seven degree tracks for post-BSN and post-MSN study. Our doctoral-level education provides nurses the clinical and management expertise to improve health care outcomes, making them expert collaborators in solving health care problems in systems. Georgia alone anticipates a 75% increase in demand for advanced practice nurses.

If you are interested in the DNP/AGACNP, FNP, PMHNP, PNP, or Post-Graduate Certificate programs, be aware that you must reside in either Georgia or South Carolina to attend the program due to the clinical requirements and need for instructors to visit you, your preceptor, and clinical site.

Augusta University College of Nursing DNP program is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Graduates of the DNP program are eligible to seek the following professional state licenses or certifications: Certification as an APRN [Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (depending on program completion)] and licensure as an APRN.

Graduates of this program may take the exam for certification as an APRN in Georgia and other states as listed on the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Visit the National Council of State Boards of Nursing to determine the requirements of your state or territory.

Augusta University College of Nursing Nursing Anesthesia program is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Programs and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

Graduates of the Nursing Anesthesia program are eligible to take the National Certification Examination required to practice as a nurse anesthetist.

The College of Nursing has determined that graduates of this program may take the exam for certification as a CRNA in Georgia and other states as listed on the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists. Visit the National Board of Certification & Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists to determine the requirements of your state or territory.
