The Interfraternity Council governs Augusta University's social fraternities. IFC hosts formal recruitment at the start of both the fall and spring semesters so interested students can meet every IFC chapter. Chapters also recruit informally throughout the year.
Recruitment dates: Bids can be given on the first day of the Spring term
The National Pan-Hellenic Council is the governing body of nine historically African American fraternities and sororities. NPHC organizations were founded to provide support systems and encouragement for students of color in higher education and continue to focus on initiatives that uplift their communities. Membership is open to students of all racial, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds.
NPHC chapters welcome new members through Membership Intake, a process each chapter
organizes on its own schedule. Intake includes selection, education about the organization,
and initiation into full membership.
The Multicultural Greek Council governs culturally based and multicultural fraternities and sororities that celebrate heritage, culture, and shared interests. MGC chapters recruit and welcome new members on their own schedules.
The Panhellenic Council governs Augusta University's National Panhellenic Conference sororities. Panhellenic hosts formal recruitment in the fall semester only, giving interested women the opportunity to meet every Panhellenic chapter. After formal recruitment, chapters with open spots may offer membership through Continuous Open Bidding (COB) during the rest of the academic year.
