GPA
A minimum overall undergraduate GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and a minimum overall graduate GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Degree Requirement
Minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited college or university. A Bachelor of Science (BSN) and / or a master’s in a non-nursing health related field (such as MPH, MHA)will be considered on a case by case basis. Applicants also must have completed a 3 credit hour undergraduate or graduate statistics or biostatistics course with a grade of "B" or higher.
Official Transcripts
Official transcripts are required from all universities and colleges ever attended. Only in the case of transcripts from international colleges/universities will an official course-by-course transcript evaluation be accepted in lieu of an official transcript. Official transcripts should be sent to NursingCAS. To remain official, all transcripts must remain in the original, unopened, sealed and stamped/signed envelope from the Registrar's office of the issuing institution. Alternatively, NursingCAS will accept official electronic transcripts from the registrar's office at your prior institution. Electronic transcripts should be directed to nursingcasinfo@nursingcas.org
Transcript/Credential Evaluation of Foreign Transcripts
An official, professional course-by-course evaluation based on official transcripts and documents is required for all foreign educational transcripts and documents from one of the following three credentials evaluation services: Josef Silny & Associates, Inc., World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. (ECE).Silny and WES are recommended. Official transcript evaluations based on unofficial transcripts, documents or copies will not fulfill this requirement.
Letters of Recommendation
As part of the online NursingCAS application process, applicants provide the names
and current email addresses for three individuals they have asked to serve as their
referees. Referees should be individuals qualified to critically assess the applicant's
prior academic (usually college professors), employment, artistic, research and/or
clinical experience (clinical or research supervisor/manager) and qualifications (as
applicable) as well as the applicant's potential as a graduate student in the field/program
selected. Once the online application is submitted, each referee will receive an email
notification directing him/her to the online site where he/she can complete the reference
form and submit his/her letter of recommendation.
Standardized Test Requirements

TOEFL Requirements (if applicable)
The official Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) test scores are required
for applicants whose first language is not English. The TOEFL exam must be taken
within 2 years of the date of application. The Augusta University institution code
for submission of TOEFL scores is 5406. Please do not select a department code.

Video Interview
Applicants will be selected to create an interview video based on an initial review of submitted application materials. Selected applicants will be notified directly by the program with instructions for creating and uploading the video.

Including date of most recent revision. This item is uploaded directly into NursingCAS.
Essay
Included within the application, applicants must submit a 500 word minimum written
essay. Include an overview of how the selected program will enhance your knowledge,
skills and abilities in your current or future position and how you will impact healthcare
outcomes.
Note: Evidence of writing competence, which will be evaluated through the candidate’sprepared
essay submitted with the application and also by a written response to an essay question
given during the admission interview.
Licensure
Proof of unrestricted RN license from state where applicant is practicing at the time of application. This item is uploaded directly into NursingCAS.
Certification
Proof of national certification as a Nurse Executive, Advanced (NE-BC / NEA-BC) by the American Nurse Credentialing Center. Other national advanced leadership certifications will be considered on a case by case basis.These items are uploaded directly into NursingCAS. Applicants who are not currently certified will be considered for conditional admission and must pass the approved certification exam prior to completing 12–credit hours of DNP course work.
Verification of Post-Baccalaureate Clinical and Practice Hours
A minimum of a 1000 post-baccalaureate practice hours are required for completion
of the DNP degree. Applicants who do not have sufficient clinical hours will be required
to complete additional clinical hours as determined by the Program Director.
Applicants must submit the Verification of Post-Baccalaureate Clinical and Practice
Hours Form (Link to form is found below) as part of the application to certify total
number of clinical practice hours in previous MSN or Post-Master's Certificate program(s).
Applicants who submit documentation of certification as a nurse executive that requires
a Master’s degree do not need to submit the Verification of Post-Baccalaureate Clinical

NOTE: Post-Baccalaureate Clinic and Practice Hours: All DNP graduates must complete a
total of 1000 hours of supervised clinical practice as mandated by the American Academy
of Colleges of Nursing.
Experience
Minimum of one year experience in a leadership role.

Background Check
A clear or expunged criminal background record. Per the Augusta University Criminal Background Check Policy (Policy 4.1.7), final admission and enrollment for all graduate nursing and education programs are
conditional on the completion of a criminal background check with results deemed acceptable
to the applicable college/program’s professional standards.
Failure to complete the required background check, provide information necessary to
conduct the background check, or provide false or misleading information, may disqualify
applicants from final admission and matriculation into the program and University.
Instructions for completing criminal background checks will be provided to applicants
upon acceptance into these programs. For further information on the policy including

Proof of Lawful Presence
In accordance with Board of Regents Policy 4.1.6, all applicants for admission to
Augusta University are required to provide validation of lawful presence in the United
States. Acceptance to Augusta University is conditional until lawful presence is verified.
ALL applicants who are US Citizens must submit documentation that verifies his/her
lawful presence in the United States at time of application to the Office of Admissions.

Council of Graduate Schools April 15 Resolution
Augusta University supports the Council Of Graduate Schools Resolution concerning the acceptance of an offer of financial support (such as a graduate scholarship,
fellowship, traineeship, or assistantship) for the next academic year by a prospective
or enrolled graduate student. Students are under no obligation to respond to offers of financial support prior to
April 15. The complete resolution and full list of members and institutions that support it
can be found on the CGS website.
Application Review
The program/academic college for which you are applying will review your application and supporting documents. Interviews will be scheduled and considered, as applicable to individual programs. Taken together, the whole of your application should demonstrate substantial preparation for graduate study in the field for which you are seeking admittance.
Decision Notification
Upon recommendation of the program/academic college, The Graduate School will review
your credentials and applicant profile and make a formal, official decision for your
admittance. Official notice of your admission can only come from the Dean of The Graduate
School via notification from Augusta University's Office of Academic Admissions.
