A minimum overall undergraduate GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and, if applicable, a minimum overall graduate GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on all coursework attempted.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university or the completion of a pre-licensure program with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree may fulfill the minimum degree requirement, which will be determined on a case by case basis. To be used to satisfy degree requirement, evaluation of foreign educational transcripts must show degree(s) earned that are the U.S. equivalency of degree(s) required by the program.
A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)-Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) degree from Augusta University is required. Those who graduated from this program are the only students accepted for the Spring.
All official transcripts are required from ALL universities and colleges ever attended. Only in the case of transcripts from international colleges/universities will an official course-by-course transcript evaluation be accepted in lieu of an official transcript. Official transcripts should be sent to NursingCAS. To remain official, all transcripts must remain in the original, unopened, sealed and stamped/signed envelope from the Registrar's office of the issuing institution. Alternatively, NursingCAS will accept official electronic transcripts from the registrar's office at your prior institution. Transcript/Credential Evaluation of Foreign Transcripts
An official, professional course-by-course evaluation based on official transcripts and documents is required for all foreign educational transcripts and documents from one of the following three credentials evaluation services: Josef Silny & Associates, Inc., World Education Services (WES), Educational Credential Evaluators, Inc. (ECE). Silny and WES are recommended. Official transcript evaluations based on unofficial transcripts, documents or copies will not fulfill this requirement.
Letters of Recommendation
As part of the online NursingCAS application process, applicants provide the names
and current email addresses for three individuals they have asked to serve as their
referees. Referees should be individuals qualified to critically assess the applicant's
prior academic (usually college professors), employment, artistic, research and/or
clinical experience (clinical or research supervisor/manager) and qualifications (as
applicable) as well as the applicant's potential as a graduate student in the field/program
selected. Once the online application is submitted, each referee will receive an email
notification directing him/her to the online site where he/she can complete the reference
form and submit his/her letter of recommendation.

Resume or CV
Applicants must submit a resume or CV Including date of most recent revision. This item is uploaded directly into NursingCAS.
Included within the application, applicants must submit a 500 word minimum written essay describing the role of a Doctor of Nursing Practice professional in the health care environment, address your specific area of clinical concentration you currently have or are applying for (FNP/PNP/ACNP/ETC), how this DNP prepared specialty will impact health care and health care outcomes and how this degree fits with the applicant’s professional goals. Inclusion of references and citations is encouraged.
A current active unrestricted license to practice nursing in the State of Georgia or eligibility for a Georgia RN license is required. Please upload a copy of the license directly into NursingCAS, if available. If ineligible for licensure at time of admission, or applicant is or will be a new graduate at the time of admission, proof of an unrestricted GA nursing license is required prior to the end of the first semester.
One year of professional nursing experience is recommended, but not required, prior
to beginning clinical courses.

Applicants must complete an interview video using information provided to them within the program application. The application packet is not considered complete until the video is received by the program.
Overall GPA Calculation
Once all official transcripts and/or transcript evaluations have been received by the Office of Academic Admissions, overall undergraduate and/or graduate GPA's will be calculated on all work attempted in which letter grades were awarded by using the Georgia Board of Regent's standards for GPA calculations. The AU calculation of overall GPA's will be used to determine if the minimum GPA requirements of your program are met. Meeting minimum GPA requirements is not an indication of acceptance into the program.
The program/academic college for which you are applying will review your application and supporting documents. Interviews will be scheduled and considered, as applicable to individual programs. Taken together, the whole of your application should demonstrate substantial preparation for graduate study in the field for which you are seeking admittance.
Upon recommendation of the program/academic college, The Graduate School will review your credentials and applicant profile and make a formal, official decision for your admittance. Official notice of your admission can only come from the Dean of The Graduate School via notification from Augusta University's Office of Academic Admissions.
Criminal Background Check
A clear or expunged criminal background record. Per the Augusta University Criminal Background Check Policy (Policy 4.1.7), final admission and enrollment for graduate nursing, clinical psychology, allied health in nutrition and education programs are conditional on the completion of a criminal background check with results deemed acceptable to the applicable college/program’s professional standards. Failure to complete the required background check, provide information necessary to conduct the background check, or provide false or misleading information, may disqualify applicants from final admission and matriculation into the program and University. Proof of Lawful Presence
According to Policy 4.3.4 of the University System of Georgia, any student requesting to pay at the in-state tuition rate will be required to provide verification of their lawful presence in the United States in order to be classified as an in-state student or awarded an out-of-state tuition waiver.
