 TUTORING

Tutoring is available for all lower-division courses.

 Ms. Amanda Gustafson  is the contact for the College of Education, College of Science and Mathematics.

 Ms. Paula Owens  is the contact for Pamplin College, the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences, and the Hull College of Business.

EMBEDDED TUTORING

Embedded Tutoring in the Classroom is a new program that allows tutors to work with students in the lab, assist with research, academic papers. In the past, tutors have been embedded into classes such as Computer Science, Foreign Language, and Science Labs.

Academic Coaching

Academic Coaching allows students to reach their full academic potential by gaining time management skills, learning tactics to overcome procrastination, study skills, and more. Contact Mr. Jerry Oliver  if you would like to schedule a classroom visit or learn more.

 

ADVISORY BOARD

We would like our faculty advisory board from every department represented. Contact our Executive Director, Dr. Lorraine Evans , if you would be interesting in joining our board and sharing your thoughts.

INDIVIDUALIZED ACADEMIC SUCCESS PLANS

Students can meet with one of our Coordinators, Jerry Oliver, Paula Owens, or Amanda Gustafson to develop a plan for academic success. Class visits are available as well. Contact Mr. Jerry Oliver  for more information.

HOST A CLASS

Are you unable to make a class or out of town to attend a conference? We can host a class if you cannot be there. We will assist with providing study skills, time management tips, and setting up an individualized success plan. Contact Dr. Lorraine Evans  if you would like us to come to your class.
