Confirm your eligibility to participate below and review common types of research
that are presented at SeDR. Want to participate? SeDR registration and abstract submission are required. Please review the dates and process below and find complete details
in the Submission Guidelines tabs above. Don't forget to consider participating in
the optional poster competition to be eligible to win prizes and awards!
Eligibility to Participate
Eligibility to participate in SeDR extends to the following individuals and groups.
If you are unsure of your eligibility, please reach out to dcgsedr@augusta.edu.
- Dental College of Georgia faculty, residents, and students (Dental & Dental Hygiene)
- Augusta University DMD Professional Scholars Program students
- Augusta University students and faculty in other departments / colleges engaged in
research involving:
- Dental / Oral Health / Maxillofacial Sciences
- Dental Materials / Biomaterials
- Head & Neck Cancers
- Public Health / Community Dentistry
- Dental Education / Behavioral Sciences
- Related Research
- Pre-Dental Society students at Augusta University and other USG institutions
- Fort Gordon and Fort Bragg DENTAC Program faculty and residents
- Additional guests by personal invitation
Research Submission Categories
Research typically falls into one of the following categories. Categories are used
for program organization and are separate from competition divisions. You can submit previously published research and literature reviews.
Research / Scholarly Topics (examples)
- Basic Sciences (proteins, cells, animals, “biologicals”)
- Clinical Materials (benchtop, dental materials)
- Clinical Treatment (techniques, patient studies, case studies)
- Educational or Behavioral (surveys, educational trials)
- Literature Review (Systematic reviews, etc.)
- Project in Development (preliminary/ no data, research proposal, not eligible for competition)
- Other (specify/describe)

Meet with a Poster Competition Judge
(only if competing)
Competitors will meet with competition judge either prior to or the day of the event.
