The Internship Experience

For Departments

Do you have a departmental need or project that could benefit from the fresh ideas and perspectives of a student intern — while also giving you the opportunity to strengthen your supervisory skills? We are seeking staff and faculty who are passionate about mentoring to apply for this exciting new program!

What’s involved in being a Site Mentor?

 Mentors are expected to:

  • Provide meaningful projects for interns to contribute to.
  • Support the intern’s professional growth and development.
  • Set clear learning objectives at the start of the semester.
  • Offer structured feedback at midterm and again at the end of the semester.

Through this program, you’ll gain real-world experience right here on campus while receiving mentorship and guidance from university professionals who are invested in your success. These opportunities are designed to help you learn, grow, and confidently take the next steps in your career journey. You can find departmental postings in Handshake by clicking Career Center > scrolling to Collections > and selecting “Jags On-Campus.”
