Certificate in Museum Studies
About the Certificate
The Certificate in Museum Studies introduces students to the range of careers in museums,
to the history and evolution of museums over time, and to current theories and debates in
the museum profession. In classwork and in applied experiences, students will gain
an understanding of the collection and care of objects; the creation, interpretation, and
evaluation of exhibits; and the future of museums in a digital age.

Total hours for the certificate: 18 Credit Hours

- MUSM 3950: Introduction to Museum Studies (3 Hours)
- MUSM 3960: Museum Management and Leadership (3 Hours)
- Internship (3 Hours): can be ANTH 4960, ART 4961/4962, HIST 4960, or MUSM 4960
