Thank you for your interest in German!
German, the language of Einstein, Beethoven, Freud, and Goethe, is the most widely known language in Europe, spoken by approximately 100 million native speakers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, and the majority of Luxembourg and Liechtenstein. Along with France, Germany is the main pillar of the European Monetary Union. There are also communities in the U.S., such as Pennsylvania, that speak a variety known as Pennsylvanian German.
Students, faculty, and staff may register for German courses by logging into Pounce during normal registration and add/drop periods.
