Join the CLE-LLC at Augusta University and become a part of a dynamic community dedicated to leadership, engagement, and positive change!

The Community Leadership & Engagement Living Learning Community (CLE-LLC) at Augusta University is an innovative residential program designed for students passionate about positively impacting their communities. This program combines academic learning with real-world experiences to cultivate the next generation of community leaders and change-makers.

The CLE-LLC will be housed in Oak Hall on the Augusta University Health Sciences Campus, equipped with modern amenities and spaces for group meetings, workshops, and social activities.

Goals

Develop Leadership Skills

Equip students with essential leadership skills such as effective communication, problem-solving, and ethical decision-making.

Foster Community Engagement

Encourage active participation in community service and civic activities, promoting a sense of responsibility towards societal improvement.

Enhance Academic Learning

Integrate community engagement with academic studies, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations.

Create opportunities for students to connect with peers, faculty, community leaders, and organizations for future collaborations.

Key Components

  • Tailored Coursework: Specialized courses focusing on community leadership, civic engagement, and public policy.
  • Service-Learning Projects: Hands-on projects in partnership with local organizations, providing practical experience in community development.
  • Leadership Workshops and Seminars: Regular workshops led by experienced leaders and guest speakers to enhance leadership capabilities.
  • Mentorship Program: Access to mentors from the university and community leaders for guidance and support.
  • Community Forums: Regular community meetings to discuss ongoing projects, share experiences, and foster a collaborative learning environment.

Eligibility and Application

  • Open to all incoming Augusta University students interested in community leadership and engagement.
  • The application process includes a written statement of interest and a recommendation from a former teacher/faculty member or community leader.
