From our Chief Residents

Dear Prospective Resident:

We are excited that you are considering our wonderful program! As this year’s Chief Residents, we would like to introduce you to the Medical College of Georgia’s (MCG) Family and Community Medicine Residency. Since 1973, we have been home to passionate, well-rounded, and highly skilled family physicians. Our alumni practice all over the country, but the majority of graduates end up staying right here in Georgia and the Southeastern United States.

We value community service, collaboration, resident education and wellness, quality improvement, and research, among others. In addition to offering high-quality allopathic training, as a dually accredited program, we provide robust osteopathic medicine training with a thriving OMT clinic. Additionally, we receive a broad and comprehensive clinical training at a top academic center with a curriculum including integrated Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS), collaborative behavioral health, practice management, in-office procedures, sports medicine, and integrative medicine. Our program is also home to sports medicine, ultrasound, and rural health fellowships!

With all that to offer, the program can individualize your experience based on career goals and interests, in addition to providing a strong foundation with the essential skills and tools necessary to begin a successful and rewarding career. What we love most about our residency, however, is the positive and collaborative environment we have with our peers and faculty that creates a fun learning environment. We could go on all day about how much we love our program! If you'd like to learn more, please reach out to us or our leadership, and we would love to get in touch!

Your chiefs,
Sylvia, Mitch, and Arika

Great Doctors, Great Medicine Since 1828.
