Center of Operational Medicine
The Center of Operational Medicine (COM) provides education, training, and operational
support for healthcare professionals, EMS providers, and public safety personnel.
The COM focuses on EMS education through the EMS Academy, along with event medicine,
tactical and military medicine, wilderness medicine, and operational field response.
Our faculty and instructors include experienced emergency physicians, paramedics,
EMS educators, and operational medicine specialists with backgrounds in emergency
medicine, prehospital care, public safety operations, and austere environment medicine.
Through partnerships with healthcare systems, EMS agencies, fire departments, law
enforcement, and regional public safety organizations, the COM delivers practical,
hands-on training designed to prepare providers for real-world operational and emergency
response environments.
