TRANSLUMBOSACRAL NEUROMODULATION THERAPY FOR FECAL INCONTINENCE: RANDOMIZED TRIAL

People who have fecal incontinence, or involuntary leakage of stool, are eligible to participate in a research study for a treatment of fecal incontinence. The treatment,Translumbosacral Neuromodualtion Therapy (TNT), consists of using a large magnet to stimulate the outer nerves of your lower back (sacral) and upper back (lumbar) to help improve your muscles to keep stool from leaking. The study will last up to 48 weeks plus 2 weeks in screening (essentially 1 yr).


Eligibility Criteria

  • You may be eligible for this treatment study if you are 18 years or older and have had FI for more than 6 months You may not be eligible if you have histroy of bowel surgey, serious heart and/or kidney condition, or neurological problems such as strokes, elilepsy or brain leisons.
