Improving awareness of women with hypertension: ROAR (Rural, Obese, At Risk)

We would like to speak with adult females (women) who live and/or work in rural areas in the state of Georgia and healthcare providers who treat women with high blood pressure or work to prevent high blood pressure in these same areas. Participants will participate in one-time, anonymous, individual interviews. We will talk with women about their knowledge about high blood pressure and obesity, their experiences with accessing healthcare and support for healthy habits, why some women delay getting care, and understand what challenges and helps there are to help women get care. We will ask providers about their perception of the knowledge of women in rural areas about hypertension and the relationship with obesity, and the challenges and successes they have seen and experienced in assisting women access care and build healthy habits.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Women: Any adult female (18y or older) Live in a rural area of Georgia Health Care Providers Live or work in a rural area of Georgia Serve women with hypertensive disorders
