(Hi-Peitho) A randomized trial of ultrasound-facilitated, catheter-directed, thrombolysis versus anticoagulation for acute intermediate-high risk pulmonary embolism: The higher-risk pulmonary embolism thrombolysis study
This study will compare two treatment options for patients with pulmonary embolism. Both treatments are approved to treat this condition.
Inclusion:
18 to 80 years of age, inclusive
Confirmed diagnosis of pulmonary embolism (PE)
At elevated risk of early death from PE
Elevated serum troponin level
Exclusion:
History of stroke or at risk for catastrophic bleeding, including from anticoagulant medication
Pregant or lactating
Have a life expectancy of less than 6 months
