(Barrigel) Randomized Trial of Barrigel

The purpose of this study is to determine if Barrigel is safe and effective when it is injected between the prostate bed and rectum to create space. The prostate bed is the location where your prostate was located previously to it being removed. This space may reduce the readiation dose and side effects to the rectum during radiation therapy treatment for prostate cancer that recurs after the prostate has been removed.


Eligibility Criteria

  • Inclusion Criteria: Age > 18 years Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) Exclusion Criteria: Known allergy to hyaluronic acid Prior local prostat cancer therapy including cryotherapy or brachytherapy Prior post-prostatectomy or pelvic radiation therapy
