Diabetes Self-management Practices' Knowledge and Engagement: An Exploratory Study

This study examines the impact of diabetes self-care education (DSCE) implementation in diabetes care. Our objectives are to 1) evaluate the level of DSCE knowledge among individuals with diabetes, 2) assess their participation in diabetes self-management practices (DSMP), and 3) investigate the role of DSCE knowledge in the relationship between DSMP engagement and diabetes outcomes. The participants will participate in a one-time, anonymous, individual interview to complete a set of questionnaires and provide a fingerstick for the A1C (glycohemoglobin) test.


Eligibility Criteria

  • We are seeking: Adults aged 18 years and older Non-pregnant women Diagnosed with diabetes, either type 1 or type 2 No obvious cognitive impairments and able to communicate in English, either independently or with assistance
