The ACGME Addiction Medicine Fellowship, is a one year fellowship directed by Richard
Camino, MD. Dr. Camino is a board certified expert in addiction, child and adult psychiatry
and as well as the Psychiatry Residency Training Director. Addiction training takes
place at both the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) and at other area community addiction
facilities.. Training is provided in the full spectrum of addiction care from withdrawal
management through residential, partial hospitalization to outpatient treatment.
Forensic Psychology Fellowship - The fellowship in forensic psychology is jointly administered by the Department of
Psychiatry and Health Behavior at Augusta University and East Central Regional Hospital.
The fellowship provides an intensive one-year training program in forensic psychology
that meets states licensure requirements as well as early entry into the forensic
board certification process. The fellowship provides experiences in clinical forensic
training, didactic seminars, and supervised research.
Serious Mental Illness Fellowship - The fellowship in serious mental illness is offered through a partnership between East Central Regional Hospital (ECRH) and Augusta University (AU). The fellowship has one full-time position available each year. The fellow will be part of the Psychiatry Department at AU, where a high priority is afforded to excellent clinical care and training. As such, the fellow will have the opportunity for research collaboration, access to AU libraries and databases, and grand rounds or other training opportunities through AU.
