Pediatric Residency Program
In 1934, the Medical College of Georgia welcomed its first trainee to the Department of Pediatrics. Nearly one hundred years later, the Pediatric Residency program continues to cultivate an environment that supports comprehensive instruction in both academic and community settings to prepare young physicians for the independent practice of pediatric care.
Our curriculum is based on the six core competencies established by the Accreditation
Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The program meets the guidelines of
the Residency Review Committee for Pediatrics and is fully accredited by the ACGME.
The Department of Pediatrics is part of the Medical College of Georgia, one of the oldest and largest medical
schools in the country and part of Augusta University and the University System of
Georgia.
