This program offers learners an environment supported by comprehensive instruction in both academic and community settings to prepare young physicians for the independent practice of pediatric care.
The curriculum is based on the six core competencies established by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The program meets the guidelines of the Residency Review Committee for Pediatrics and is fully accredited by the ACGME.
The Department of Pediatrics is part of the Medical College of Georgia, one of the oldest and largest medical schools in the country and part of Augusta University and the University System of Georgia.

The Pediatric Residency Program is committed to improving the health and well-being of children in our region, state and the nation by educating the next generation of clinical Pediatricians in both community and academic learning environments. Our residents will be prepared to provide medical care for children in a wide variety of clinical settings including rural, suburban, or urban primary care or to pursue fellowships in a Pediatric Subspecialty.
