Nathan Wilson, MD
General Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine- Aiken

Dr. Wilson has the ability to stimulate passion for the field of pediatrics, while also teaching us the importance of a well balanced life. He goes out of his way daily to find a teaching point on every patient as well as created a curriculum to help better prepare us for medicine outside of residency.

Dr. Wilson goes out of his way to set up lectures for residents to help them learn about coding and billing for post graduation. He also makes a point to teach you about something with every patient encounter. He makes you feel like a valued member of the team.

Davidson Freeman, MD
Pediatric Hospitalist Medicine

Even on busy days on the inpatient team Dr. Freeman makes it a point to turn every patient into a teaching opportunity. He not only teaches us about the science of medicine but also the art of medicine and how to interact with families and patients in the best way possible.

Dr. Freeman is one of the most genuinely kind, compassionate, caring, and hardworking physicians I have ever had the pleasure of working with.  His ability to teach a complex topic through anecdotal experiences while combining and citing the most up to date studies has proven to be invaluable to my training at MCG. Dr. Freeman is the epitome of what every pediatrician should strive to be.

Dr. Freeman has been instrumental in the education of his medical students and residents. With each patient, he finds many teaching points to further our medical knowledge. His dedication to high-quality patient care is so evident in every patient encounter. Dr. Freeman sets a high standard for being a pediatrician with qualities his learners hope to emulate.

2020

facultyRobert Pendergrast, MD
General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine

Dr. Pendergrast embodies what it means to be a great teacher. He goes into each day with the intent to learn something new and teaches his team members to do the same. He takes the time to teach all he encounters, from residents and students to patients and families.

Dr. Pendergrast changed the way I practice Adolescent and General Medicine.  His approach to patient visits results in excellent rapport with parents and teenagers.  He has amazing clinical pearls.

Dr. Pendergrast approaches every day and patient encounter with enthusiasm and as an opportunity for a learning experience. He genuinely cares deeply about the residents, students, and his patients and he is an excellent educator.
