(AUMC) location must obtain a medical center contractor identification badge.
This applies to employees of suppliers (contractors, vendors, etc.) who provide goods and services or who are assigned to a project at AUMC.
Those who visit campus infrequently may be escorted by an authorized employee or obtain a temporary identification badge.

Yes, all non-AU/AUMC employees who require a contractor identification badge must first pass a criminal background check.
What kind of background check is required?
Prior to being issued a badge, we require that personnel be evaluated by a state and federal criminal history check to determine that each employee has no history of any felony convictions. We also require that each employee has no history of any crime of moral turpitudeCrimes of moral turpitude are generally those involving vileness or depravity with respect to the duties a person owes to other members of society or to society in general. In particular concern are those crimes involving violence, dishonesty or breach of trust. Examples include but are not limited to murder, rape, fraud, embezzlement, and child abuse. within the past ten years.

Any company or organization that assigns their personnel to fulfill the terms of a contract or purchase at Augusta University is considered an AU Supplier. This includes vendors, contractors, service providers, or any external entity engaged to provide services to AU for fees or other remuneration.
