AU Health SystemNon-AU personnel who are assigned to work at an Augusta University Medical Center (AUMC) location must obtain a medical center contractor identification badge.

This applies to employees of suppliers (contractors, vendors, etc.) who provide goods and services or who are assigned to a  project at AUMC.

Those who visit campus infrequently may be escorted by an authorized employee or obtain a temporary identification badge.

How to request a contractor badge

  1. Each employee MUST visit background.hrtrucheck.com
  2. Use access code AUHealth (no spaces and case sensitive) to create an account and complete the requested information (instructions here).
  3. Download the AUMC contractor badge request form and complete one for each employee.
  4. Email the properly completed application to Christine Abbott: cabbott@augusta.edu
  5. Christine Abbott will personally send the application to the Medical Center Badging office.
  6. After completing the background check, an email will be sent to the address provided on the background check form to inform whether the application was approved “Cleared Applicant’s” or denied “CANNOT Hire.”
  7. After being approved, the applicant must visit the Employee Health office for Tuberculosis testing.
       - The test must be read by Employee Health 48 hours after the test is placed.
       - Testing will take place Monday – Wednesday or Friday ONLY.

       - Your healthcare provider may administer a TB test, but the results will still need to be submitted to Employee Health for approval.
  8. After you receive an email indicating that you are cleared AND you have your blue TB test form from Employee Health, proceed to the JagCard office for badging.

Important Notes:

  • Please note that this badging and testing process normally takes 3-5 business days. If the background check returns any concerning results, it will be further reviewed by the AU Health Chief of Security for consideration, which will require additional processing time.
  • If you require access to buildings or areas with electronically-controlled locks, an access request must be submitted to hospitalaccess@augusta.edu by the AU Project Manager or the supervisor/manager of the areas where you require access.
  • JagCard staff do not approve access. They only assign it as instructed by an authorized individual.
  • Background checks and badges expire one year after the issue date. Each contractor is to make a note of their expiration date(s). To prevent delays for subsequent years, please start your "new year" background processing clearances at least 30 days before your current expiration date. Due to the vast number of contractors on site, the Badging office cannot send out individual reminders.
