All Augusta University employees are covered by state Workers' Compensation laws, which may provide medical and income benefits if you are injured on the job. Workers' Compensation also provides benefits to your dependents if you die as the result of a job-related illness or injury.

Procedure if Medical Attention is Required at the time of Accident/Injury: 

  1. Employee shall report accident/injury to supervisor.
  2. Accident/Injuries should be reported within 24 hours.
  3. Employee shall complete section A of the Employee's Report of Accident/Injury and submit to supervisor.
  4. Employee shall complete Leave Election Form and return to HR.
  5. Supervisor should complete section B of the Employees Report of Accident/Injury form and submit to Wes Norton, in Human Resources, Benefits & Data Management.
  6. Supervisor reports accident/injury to DOAS workers' compensation toll free number: 1-877-656-7475.

Procedures if NO Medical Attention is Required: 

  1. Employee shall report incident to supervisor.
  2. Incidents should be reported within 24 hours.
  3. Employee should complete section A of the Incident Notice Only form and submit to Supervisor.
  4. Employee shall complete Leave Election Form and return to HR.
  5. Supervisor should complete section B of the Incident Notice Only form and submit to Wes Norton, Human Resources, Benefits & Data Management.
