Bio

Dr. Edwards is a former middle grades mathematics teacher. She received her PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a focus on K-8 mathematics education.

Teaching Interests

Dr. Edwards teaches pre-service and in-service teachers in initial certification courses. Her primary teaching interests are mathematics education and middle grades education.

Research Interests

Dr. Edwards research focus is in the area of active learning in middle grades education. In particular, she is interested in exploring what supports teachers need in order to be able to implement active learning instructional strategies.
