Bio

I am a historian of the former Soviet space in global perspective. Other interests include the history of race in non-capitalist societies and the history of intelligence.

Teaching Interests

I teach a broad range of topics, including modern US history, the history of Russian empires from the 19th to the 21st centuries, the history of protest, and modern world history.
