Bio

Dr. Sejong Bae is a highly accomplished biostatistician and researcher with over two decades of experience in clinical, translational, and population-based research. Currently, he serves as the inaugural chair of the Department of Biostatistics, Data Science, and Epidemiology at Augusta University's School of Public Health, following significant academic and leadership roles, including a professorship at UAB Heersink School of Medicine and leadership of their Biostatistics & Bioinformatics Group for O’Neal Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Bae's extensive research interests encompass cancer, cardiovascular diseases, other chronic diseases, health equity, clinical trials, and advanced biostatistics methods, as reflected in his impressive publication record, which includes over 230 peer-reviewed manuscripts and more than 10,000 citations. He is highly involved in scientific review, having served on over 100 panels for organizations such as the NIH, DOD, VA, and PCORI. Additionally, he is a member or chair of several data and safety monitoring boards (DSMBs, DSMCs, and OSMBs).
