Research Interests

During over 20 years of my research training, I gained an expertise in T cell immunology and the role of TCR/peptide/MHC interactions in different aspects of autoimmune diseases. My research interest focused on exploring mechanisms of immune tolerance using in vivo and in vitro assays in animal models of autoimmunity. During my career, I generated several single peptide/MHC class II and TCR transgenic mouse models with exhaustive characterization of selection, development and activation of conventional and regulatory CD4 T cell with an emphasis on the role of MHC/peptide complexes in these processes.
