Marco Orecchioni, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor at the Immunology Center of Georgia, Augusta University. His research explores how ectopic olfactory receptors function as immune sensors in monocytes and macrophages, decoding endogenous lipid and metabolic signals to shape inflammation, chemotaxis, foam cell formation, and tumor-immune crosstalk. His lab uses advanced molecular, spatial, and in vivo models to define the relevance of these chemosensory pathways in shaping the immune response.
