Dr. Allen grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Saint Vincent College in 2003 with a B.S. in Biochemistry and graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2007. He completed a traditional rotating osteopathic internship at UPMC St Margaret Hospital in Pittsburgh and completed his residency in Emergency Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia. He served in the United States Army with assignments as a flight surgeon in the 10th Mountain Division and multiple positions at Eisenhower Army Medical Center including Chief of Emergency Medicine. He is currently the Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine at Eisenhower Army Medical Center and is the EMS Medical Director for Fort Gordon, GA and Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico. He holds numerous directorships and instructorships at DDEAMC. He is as an oral board examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is also a member of both the Professional Ski Instructors of America and the National Ski Patrol and is a former Eagle Scout. His wife Jennifer is the Division Chief of OB-GYN and together they have a daughter and twin boys. His primary professional interests are medicolegal review, performance improvement, and pre-hospital emergency services.
