I am an Augusta native and attained two of my degrees from Augusta University - my Bachelors of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice. I am also a graduate of Emory University with a Masters in the Science of Nursing with a focus in neonatal nurse practitioner practice.
My teaching interested include advanced practice education with a focus on neonatal care. I am involved in the prelicensure programs at the College of Nursing serving students in the Bachelors of Science in Nursing and the Masters of Science in Nursing / Clinical Nurse Leader. My focuses in these programs include nursing fundamentals, transition into practice, nursing leadership, and obstetric and neonatal nursing.
As a neonatal nurse practitioner with an established career in the clinical management of critically ill neonates, I serve as a clinical expert in both bedside care and scholarly collaboration. My expertise spans complex neonatal conditions, including hemolytic disease, on which I have published work detailing evidence-based treatment strategies. I have contributed to multidisciplinary efforts in neonatal nutrition through co-authored book chapters, integrating clinical insight with academic rigor. Additionally, my research on family needs in the neonatal intensive care unit reflects a commitment to holistic care, emphasizing the importance of emotional support and communication in high-acuity environments. Through these roles, I bridge clinical excellence with academic contribution to advance neonatal care.
