Research Interests
My research broadly seeks to examine how much attention users of mobile applications and social media sites pay to the terms and conditions to which they agree prior to use. Congruently I consider how much concern said users express when considering how their information is being collected, stored, and sold to third-party developers and advertisers. My research considers how varying degrees of motivation (the reflective reasoning processes that influence decision-making behaviors) and opportunity (the ability to deliberately reflect on properties/values present within the argument at hand), affects one’s reluctance toward or acceptance of privacy permissions that require access to personal information and content.
