Bio

Dr. Ahmed AlEroud is an Associate Professor of Cyber Security at Augusta University. Before joining Augusta University, he was an instructor in the department of Information Systems at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County(UMBC). He worked as a Visiting Associate Research Scientist and a Post-doctoral fellow at UMBC. Before joining UMBC, He worked as An Associate Professor of Information Systems at Yarmouk University in Jordan. He holds degrees in Information Systems (Ph.D. and M.S.) from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. He also holds an MS degree in Computer Information Systems from Yarmouk University in Jordan, and a Bs. degree in Software Engineering from Hashemite University in Jordan. His research work focuses on cyber-security, privacy preserving network data analytics, detection of social engineering attacks, and identifying radical content in social networks using sentiment analysis. He was a certified cyber security trainer at KADD Cyber Security Academy in Jordan. He has publications in journals such as IEEE Transactions, ACM Digital Threats Research&Practice, Computers&Security, Information Security and Applications, Information System Frontiers, Knowledge and Information Systems. His research has been supported by MITRE, European IP Networks(RIPE), and Maryland Innovation Initiative. He has also co-authored two educational/research books on Cyber Security.
