Cementation Checklist for All Cements

TOOTH-Preparation	RESTORATION- Crown/Veneer/Onlay/Inlay
Follow the sequence for prep (white) and restoration (grey) (From 1-8):
1. Remove temporary + Clean prep to remove residual cement	1. Try-in on die and solid model
Try-in + Adjustments *Veneers: Try-in one at a time and then all together (check sequence) using water OR try-in paste OR water soluble medium (KY Jelly). Select the shade of the cement according to the shade of the try-in paste
3. Confirm seating with radiograph and/or fit checker (if necessary)
4. Isolate the tooth/teeth (Rubber dam or Isolite)	5. Try-in one more time with the rubber dam/Isolite to verify complete seating
6. Clean (fluoride-free pumice) and disinfect the prep (2% CHX)	6. Clean restoration (steam clean) and DO NOT place it back on the cast
	7. SELECT THE MATERIAL
	Lithium Disilicate (EMAX) 5% Hydrofluoric Acid (RED) for 20 sec (Emax) Rinse and air dry Apply SILANE 1-2 coats OR MONOBOND PLUS 1 coat: let it stand for 1 min + air dry for 15 sec (or apply heat for 1 min)
	Zirconia, PFM, and Metal *adhesive cementation   *Microsandblast with Aluminum Oxide <50µm *Apply Ivoclean for 20 sec + rinse + air dry *Apply METAL PRIMER (Z-Prime Plus) 1 coat and air dry for 5 sec OR MONOBOND PLUS 1 coat and air dry for 60 sec
	Resin Nano Ceramic (LAVA ULTIMATE) Microsandblast with Aluminum Oxide <50µm Rinse and air dry Apply SILANE 1-2 coats OR MONOBOND PLUS 1 coat: let it stand for 1 min + air dry for 15 sec (or apply heat for 1 min)
	Leucite (EMPRESS) and Feldspathic Porcelain     5% Hydrofluoric Acid for 60 sec (Empress) 9.5% Hydrofluoric Acid for 90 sec (Feldspathic) Rinse and air dry 37% Phosphoric acid scrubbing for 20 sec Rinse and air dry Apply SILANE 1-2 coats OR MONOBOND PLUS 1 coat: let it stand for 1 min + air dry
8. SELECT THE LUTING AGENT
Duo-Link Universal with + AllBond Universal (Bisco) DUAL-CURE Resin Cement Crown Prep: Leave preparation slightly moist Onlay/Inlay Prep: selective etch enamel for 20-30 sec with 37% phosphoric acid + rinse + lightly air dry Used for: All ceramic (EMAX, Empress, Feldspathic, Zirconia) PFM, and Metal AllBond Universal (self-etch adhesive) 1 coat scrubbing for 15 sec, lightly air dry and apply another coat scrubbing for 15 sec + air dry (no excess of adhesive should be present) + light-cure for 10 sec.       Seat the restoration firmly (cement should exude from all margins) + verify full seating + continue finger pressure + *light-cure B and L for 2 sec ONLY + clean margins and floss gently + light-cure for 20 sec each surface. For Metal/Zirconia firm pressure for 4-5 min.   Check occlusion and polish + post-op radiograph

SELECT THE MATERIAL     5% Hydrofluoric Acid (RED) for 20 sec (Emax)   Lithium Rinse and air dry   Disilicate Apply SILANE 1-2 coats OR MONOBOND   (EMAX) PLUS 1 coat: let it stand for 1 min + air dry     for 15 sec (or apply heat for 1 min)         *Microsandblast with Aluminum Oxide <50µm   Zirconia, PFM, *Apply Ivoclean for 20 sec + rinse + air dry       and Metal *adhesive cementation *Apply METAL PRIMER (Z-Prime Plus) 1 coat and air dry for 5 sec OR MONOBOND PLUS 1     coat and air dry for 60 sec         Resin Nano Microsandblast with Aluminum Oxide <50µm   Rinse and air dry   Ceramic (LAVA ULTIMATE)   Apply SILANE 1-2 coats OR MONOBOND PLUS 1 coat: let it stand for 1 min + air dry for 15 sec (or apply heat for 1 min)         5% Hydrofluoric Acid for 60 sec (Empress)     Leucite 9.5% Hydrofluoric Acid for 90 sec (Feldspathic)   Rinse and air dry   (EMPRESS)   37% Phosphoric acid scrubbing for 20 sec   and   Rinse and air dry   Feldspathic Porcelain   Apply SILANE 1-2 coats OR MONOBOND PLUS 1 coat: let it stand for 1 min + air dry     for 15 sec (or apply heat for 1 min)

*Veneers: Try-in one at a time and then all together (check sequence) using water OR try-in paste OR water soluble medium (KY Jelly). 	Crown Prep: Leave preparation slightly moist Onlay/Inlay Prep: selective etch enamel for 20-30 sec with 37% phosphoric acid + rinse + lightly air dry
Duo-Link Universal with + AllBond Universal (Bisco) DUAL-CURE Resin Cement	AllBond Universal (self-etch adhesive) 1 coat scrubbing for 15 sec, lightly air dry and apply another coat scrubbing for 15 sec + air dry (no excess of adhesive should be present) + light-cure for 10 sec.
	Dispense Duo-Link Universal into the restoration (into the prep in case of inlay/onlay)
Used for: All ceramic (EMAX, Empress, Feldspathic, Zirconia) PFM, and Metal	Seat the restoration firmly (cement should exude from all margins) + verify full seating + continue finger pressure + *light-cure B and L for 2 sec ONLY + clean margins and floss gently + light-cure for 20 sec each surface. For Metal/Zirconia firm pressure for 4-5 min.
		*Optional Method: wait for cement to reach gel phase on its own, or remove excess cement while unset.
	Check occlusion and polish + post-op radiograph
Rely X Unicem	Selective etch enamel for 20-30 sec with 37% phosphoric acid + rinse + air dry (dentin needs to be moist)
2 (3M) DUAL-CURE Self-Adhesive Resin Cement		Dispense Rely X Unicem 2 into the restoration (into the prep in case of inlay/onlay)
Used for: All ceramic (EMAX, Empress, Feldspathic, Zirconia) PFM, and Metal	Seat the restoration firmly (cement should exude from all margins) + verify full seating + continue finger pressure + *light-cure B and L for 2 sec ONLY + clean margins and floss gently + light-cure for 20 sec each surface (B, L, O).	*Optional Method: wait for cement to reach gel phase on its own, or remove excess cement while unset.
	Check occlusion and polish + post-op radiograph
Rely X Luting	Crown/Gold Onlay/Inlays: Leave preparation slightly moist
Plus (3M) SELF-CURE		Dispense Rely X Luting Plus into the restoration
Resin-Modified Glass Ionomer	Seat the restoration firmly (cement should exude form all margins) + verify full seating + continue applying
Used for: Zirconia, PFM and Metal	pressure for 2½ min (from initial setting) + clean margins and floss gently + have the patient bite on a cotton roll for another 2 min
	Re-verify occlusion to ensure complete seating

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

TOOTH-Preparation RESTORATION-Veneer If using ScotchBond Universal Adhesive (3M) (Self- etch adhesive): selective etch enamel for 20-30 sec with 37% phosphoric acid + rinse + air dry + 1 coat  of Universal Adhesive scrubbing for 15 sec, lightly air dry and apply another coat scrubbing for 15 sec + air dry (no excess of adhesive should be present) + light- cure for 10 sec                           *Optional Method: light-cure after placement of the veneer.   OR Rely X Veneer Cement (3M) LIGHT-CURE Resin Cement   Used for: Ceramic (EMAX, If using Adper Single Bond Plus (3M) (Total etch adhesive): etch enamel for 20-30 sec and dentin for 5-10 sec (if exposed) with 37% phosphoric acid + rinse + evacuate/suction dentin moisture + 2-3 coats of Adper Single Bond Plus + air dry (no excess of adhesive should be present) + light-cure for 10 sec* Feldspathic) Veneers   Dispense the selected shade Rely X Veneer Cement into the veneer Seat the restoration firmly (cement should exude form all margins) + apply finger pressure and wipe away the cement towards the tissue + spot cure at the middle third for 2-3 sec ONLY + clean margins and floss gently maintaining finger pressure + light cure for 20 sec all surfaces     Refine occlusion + clean margins + polish
