The Augusta University Jazz Studies Program is led by internationally renowned artist trombonist, Wycliffe Gordon, winner of Downbeat Magazine's Critics Choice Award for Best Trombone in 2020, 2018, 2016, 2014, 2013, and 2012.

Gordon's students have the opportunity to regularly work and perform with top notch jazz musicians from around the world. Most recently AU students have been able to work with jazz greats such as Houston Person, Jimmy Heath, Jay Leonhart, Andrea Brachfield and Branford Marsalis.

Bachelor of Music in Performance (Jazz Studies)

A performance major in jazz studies prepares students for careers as instrumentalists in jazz and popular styles, and as solo recitalists, accompanists, as well as private and college teachers.
