Barry Garman, PhD

Dr. Barry Garman is presently an adjunct faculty member at Augusta University teaching applied Double Bass. Dr. Garman’s degrees in Music Education include Doctor of Philosophy (University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida, 1992), Master of Music with an emphasis in String Pedagogy (University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida, 1989), and Bachelor of Music (Augusta College, Augusta, Georgia, 1980).

In addition to teaching full-time and directing orchestras in the Richmond County (Georgia) public schools, Dr. Garman is a member of the double bass section of Symphony Orchestra Augusta, in which he served as principal from 1981 to 1988.
