The Mary S. Byrd Gallery of Art's mission is to promote smart and relevant works of art by emerging, mid-career and established contemporary artists. The Gallery strives to serve as a laboratory for student learning and seeks to enrich the lives of community members.

The Mary S. Byrd Gallery of Art is the proud recipient of the 2018 Ellsworth Kelly Award presented by the Foundation for Contemporary Arts for the solo exhibition of work by artist Bojana Ginn.

2026 Juried Student Art Exhibition

The Mary S. Byrd Gallery of Art, located on Augusta University’s Summerville Campus, is pleased to present the 2026 Annual Student Juried Art Exhibition, on view from January 21 through March 4, 2026. This annual exhibition showcases exceptional student artwork created by emerging artists within the Augusta University Department of Art & Design.

This year’s exhibition was juried by Madeline Beck, Curator at the Marietta-Cobb Museum of Art, who selected works demonstrating strong conceptual development, technical skill, and diverse artistic voices. The exhibition highlights a wide range of media and approaches, reflecting the breadth and vitality of student creative practice at Augusta University.

Artists included in the exhibition are: Aliya Burnside, Ana Thompson, Antonio Fernandez, Ashley Daschbach, Avery Watson, Caroline McCall, Cesar I. Delgado, Chloe Weeks, Dawn Cardona, Gerry O’Meara, Harper Hall, Jasmine Lary, Jasmine Walker, Jocelyn Holloway, Laila Gracy, Michael Hall, Nika Aarts, Nikki Gibau, Orrin Thompson, Patricia Guthrie, Sawyer Fretz, Scarlett Wankerl, Seth Prior, Shelby Robertson, and Tiffany Nguyen.

Our Location


Washington Hall

We are located on the ground floor of Washington Hall on the Summerville Campus. When you enter through the main gate you arrive at a round-about, do almost a full turn around, and then turn to the right (a sign says Washington Hall). The road will turn slightly to the right and you will see a medium height brick building with a fortress jagged roof-line on your left side. This is Washington Hall. The entry that leads to the gallery is the one you see first as you approach the building.
