Our mission is to deliver accessible dermatological care to uninsured individuals in Augusta and the neighboring community. Through our dedicated efforts, we aim to advance equitable and high-quality skincare for underserved demographics.

 

 

Clinic Founding/History: In 2021, medical student Gabriela Duchesne, with the help and co-leadership of Mitchell Hanson embarked on a mission to establish a free dermatology clinic to expand the services offered by MCG's student-led clinics. The Augusta Free Dermatology Clinic has proudly been serving the community since 2023.

Clínica Latina

clinica latina logoClínica Latina strives to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of the Latinx community and other underserved populations in the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) via the provision of much needed health services. Clínica Latina provides primary healthcare services, vision and dental screenings, HIV testing, and more at each clinic. We have in-person Spanish interpreters at each clinic to facilitate communication between patients, students, and providers. Clinic is held twice a month and typically serves between 15-20 patients at each session. We work closely with medical students, PA students, pharmacy students and dental student volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of each clinic. Together, we are committed to making a positive and lasting impact on the health of our community.

 

Clinic Founding/History: Clínica Latina in partnership with Asociación Latina de Servicios Del CSRA (ALAS) has been serving the underprivileged in the CSRA for more than 15 years. In July of 2023, the clinic moved into its own building, Cento Médico William Salazar. This has been a great opportunity for the clinic to expand and serve more patients. Clínica Latina also hosts an annual Heath Fair each year, collaborating with other student run clinics to deliver complete comprehensive care in one day. Clínica Latina is excited to continue serving the local community and expand the services we can offer patients.

Druid Park Student Clinic

Druid ParkThe Druid Park Community Health Center (DPCHC) Student Clinic is a student-run, physician-supervised health care initiative with the goal of serving the underserved, underinsured, and uninsured populations and individuals of Augusta, Georgia. DPCHC collaborates with volunteer students and partnering health care providers to provide primary care through clinical and preventative services to the communities we serve.  Our mission is to serve each of our patients with respect, professionalism, and quality care. We aim to steward our resources in order to respond to health disparities in primary care in our state, region, and nation. As we do these things, we seek to invest into the medical education and experiences of our volunteers.

 

 

Clinic Founding/History: Druid Park Student Run Clinic was established through the merging of what were formerly known as 8th Street Clinic and Greene Street Clinic back in 2021. Through the efforts of predecessors in each of these clinics, and the generosity of Druid Park Community Health Center, the current Druid Park Student Run Clinic stands as it is today, able to serve patients with the same vision and mission.

Clinic Founding/History: Empower Health Clinic was founded by Black Men of MCG in 2023 as an opportunity for outreach in for the medically underserved and underrepresented in the Augusta community. The founded members included: Thomas Lyons, Osayamen Atekha and Toure Jones.

Equality Clinic

Equality ClinicEquality Clinic runs on the premise that no one should be denied healthcare on account of sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression. We serve as an LGBTQ-friendly space for those in the CSRA community who are under- or un-insured and fall below 200% of the federal poverty level. We are creating a clinic where patients can receive the care they deserve in a welcoming, open environment. Wherever you fall on the complex spectrums of gender expression, gender identity, and sexual attraction, you can come to Equality Clinic and discuss your specific health needs without fear of judgment or discrimination.

 

Clinic Founding/History: We are an interdisciplinary team of healthcare providers serving the under- and un-insured LGBTQIA+ community of Augusta, GA, and the surrounding areas. We are a volunteer group of doctors, pharmacists, dentists, physician assistants, psychiatrists, and students from each discipline who have come together to fill the gap in care for the LGBTQ+ community in Augusta, the CSRA, and the surrounding regions.  The Equality Clinic maintains a strategic alliance with Augusta University Medical Center. Physicians and other providers affiliated with AUMC provide supervision for the clinical services provided at the clinic. Additionally, AUMC provides free laboratory work, pathology services, and HIV rapid testing (in partnership with the AU Ryan White Program) for the Equality Clinic.

Faithcare Clinic

faithcare logoFaithCare is a long-standing free medical clinic operating out of Wesley United Methodist Church in Evans. It serves Columbia County residents living below 200% of the federal poverty level and meets on the second Tuesday of each month. A group of physicians, medical students, PA students, undergraduate students, and church volunteers serve 20-25 patients each month.

 

Clinic Founding/History: Faithcare was founded by a group of local Christian physicians led by Dr. Mulloy over 20 years ago that wanted to serve their local community. The clinic started at Doctors Hospital but later outgrew it and moved to WUMC where it is still located today.

Free Mental Health Clinic

The Free Mental Health Clinic is a free clinic for individuals who are uninsured or under-insured and are also 200% below the federal poverty line. We treat all qualifying patients for their psychiatric and mental health needs and strive to provide the highest level of care to all. At the free clinic, we provide psychiatric evaluations and medication (no controlled substances) management services for adult patients aged 18 years and older. We are a new addition to the ALAS free health clinics, founded by residents of the AU Health Psychiatry Department. Our appointments are currently being conducted via telehealth calls on the final Tuesday of each month from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Halo Clinic is a student-run clinic whose mission is to provide long-term care to the stigmatized, underserved patient population in substance use disorder recovery. We provide both primary care and substance use recovery services to under or uninsured patients.

Pediatric Clinic

Peds ClinicThe Pediatric Clinic is a free, student-run, physician-supervised health service that aims to promote the health and well-being of underserved children and teens of the Augusta community by cultivating collaboration and learning among healthcare providers. We strive to provide compassionate and comprehensive care while cultivating an environment of trust and empowerment for the families we serve. We serve the uninsured and underinsured with PeachCare or Medicaid under 18 years of age) We provide free wellness checks (including dental/vision/hearing screenings), sports physicals, sick check-ups, and laboratory services through our partnership with Wellstar MCG Health. Pediatric clinic is open every second and fourth Wednesday of the month from 5-8pm. One Saturday a month from 8am-12pm, we host clinic at a Richmond County School in our aim to centralize health services and reduce barriers to care. Call/text to set up an appointment. Walk-ins are also accepted. Spanish interpreting services available!

 

Clinic Founding/History: The Pediatric Clinic is one of the several student-run free clinics operating under ALAS (Asociación Latina de Servicios del CSRA) at Centro Medico. ALAS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life and promoting the well-being of Hispanics and other underserved populations in the Central River Savannah Area (CSRA). Although the founding purpose of ALAS was to advocate for and provide free medical and interpreting services for the Hispanic community, ALAS has grown to serve a much wider patient base.

Shifa Care Clinic

The Shifa Care Clinic is a free clinic for those who do not have health insurance and have an income below 200% of the poverty level. We provide reimbursement for prescription medicines, lab test, and transportation for all eligible patients and are available every second Saturday of the month at alternating locations.

Vision Clinic

MCG's Student Vision Clinic has a mission to bring awareness and access to vision health in the local and statewide community. By providing free vision screenings at various clinics and community health fairs as well as low cost follow up care, the Vision Clinic aims to continue providing affordable and accessible vision care to all.

 

 

Clinic Founding/History: The Vision Clinic was founded in 2022 by students to provide free screenings to the local community. Through a partnership with the Asociación Latina de Servicios del CSRA and the Georgia state affiliate of Prevent Blindness, the clinic is able to utilize screening equipments, an EHR system, and create a network for follow-up care. Screenings include visual acuity, IOP, HVF, AR, and non-dilated fundus imaging. The clinic is also able to provide prescriptions and low-cost glasses along with monthly basic screenings in a PCP setting.
