Services & Accreditation

Services

The faculty and staff of the Section of Anatomic Pathology provide diagnostic services for the diagnosis and comprehensive evaluation of disease primarily through the study of tissues and cells. The faculty is comprised of pathologists and doctoral scientists. The section has laboratories/services in autopsy, cytology, surgical pathology, histology, electron microscopy, cytogenetics, immunopathology and molecular pathology.

Accreditation:

The service and laboratory procedures conform to the standards prescribed by the Joint Commission for Accreditation of Health Care Organizations, Colleges of American Pathologists, the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 and other accrediting agencies. The faculty and staff meet the required qualifications. Continuous quality improvement activities are in place and are to the quality of diagnostic services, timeliness of reports, safety requirements requirements and quality laboratory activities.
