Continuing Medical Education
As part of the University System of Georgia we aim to provide a broad range of educational
activities. Our goal is to include not only our residents but also the local and regional
ophthalmic and optometric communities. Rollover the links below for a quick summary

Journal Club
About 8 times a year our residents present articles from the major journals under
faculty moderation. During and after each article the topics are discussed & reviewed.
Visiting Lecture Series
A lecture series where invitees speak on important topics in eye care, ophthalmology
& the basic sciences. This is often coordinated with the VDI.
Grand Rounds
This weekly case presentation conference is presented by our residents and rotating
medical students. It is moderated by faculty with opportunity for Q&A. [CME offered]
Resident Alumni
An annual meeting where resident research is presented in conjunction with 2-3 guest
speakers. A high point is resident the graduation and banquet. [CME offered]
Continuing medical education credits are offered through the Medical College of Georgia's
Continuing education department which is accredited under the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education
