The Doctorate of Dental Medicine curriculum at Augusta University requires at least 8 academic semesters over four calendar years. The curriculum initially emphasizes the basic sciences with an expanding emphasis on the clinical sciences. The Student and Research

The dental student may participate in research projects supervised by faculty in both basic science and clinical areas.


Licensure Examination

The Academic Affairs and Advanced Education Office has determined that the required classes and educational activities of this academic program satisfies the educational requirements for state licensure in all U.S. states and the territories of: American Samoa, Guam, The Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, The U.S. Virgin Islands.

To be eligible to sit for the licensure exam, candidates must meet the DMD Licensure Exam Eligibility requirements. Please note that candidates are required to attempt the exam before graduation, but failing the initial licensure exam will not prevent them from graduating.
