What is the ASC?

The Academic Success Center (ASC) is here to encourage learning and support freshman and sophomores in reaching academic goals.

Who can use the ASC?

Tutoring and Academic Coaching services are targeted toward Augusta University students taking lower-level courses. The space is also open for general study.

How do I check-in for Tutoring, Studying, or Academic Coaching?


1. Swipe In or Type in your JagCard number

2. Select ONE of the three Options:

If you would like to see a tutor, click “Tutoring." Select a subject. Then select a tutor. 

If you would like to study, click “ASC Study."

If you have an appointment with an Academic Coach, click the green “Check-in” button.

Is ASC open during the summer?

Yes, hours are typically Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. 

How do I apply to become a tutor?

We are always accepting new applications. We are looking for outgoing students with a passion for academics. No experience is necessary as long as you are enthusiastic, know your subject, and are interested in learning a new skill! Click here for more information on how to join the ASC team!

How do I reserve a Study Room?

Students can reserve the Study Room (UH 150) for two hour blocks. The reservation must include at least 3-4 students.  The reservation can be extended if the room is free.  

Please speak with the Office Specialist at the front desk to reserve a room.

Are there computers in the ASC?

Yes, laptops are available for use while in the Center. Students can print wirelessly from the laptops. The cost of printing will be charged to your printing funds. 

Can I print from my personal laptop?

Yes. There is a wireless printer for use. In order to print, the laptop must be connected to GR-Secure wifi and have the printer plug-in installed to their laptop to print.  

To download the plug-in, simply visit Information Technology's website.

How do I get dry-erase board markers?

Exchange for your Student ID for a marker and eraser. Markers can be checked out at front the front desk.  Student IDs are held until markers are returned. 

Can I use the Keurig Coffee Machines?

Of course! Students can purchase a Keurig cup from the vending machine in the lobby of University Hall on the first floor. Coffee creamer, sugar, and coffee stirrers are provided within the ASC.

The ASC offers free coffee for students throughout the semester as well. 

What is First and Second Year Experience? How do I get involved?

The First Year Experience (FYE) program provides a framework of initiatives designed to foster academic success throughout the first year of enrollment.

The Second Year Experience (SYE) program provides pathways to transition first year students to year two and beyond focusing on strategies that assist in retention, progression and graduation.
